DELTA – Delfini & Cia., S.A. was founded in 1966 by the engineers Enrico, Alfonso, Riccardo, and Francesco Delfini. 

Our first field of action was the design and erection of electrical, industrial refrigeration, and air conditioning systems.  From these first activities we are still very active in the industrial refrigeration field where we have increased our coverage with local manufacturing of various components. DELTA has installed over 50,000 tons of refrigeration or horse power for various applications.

In the mid 70’s the aquaculture industry started to develop in Ecuador and DELTA Delfini immediately started research and development on large vertical seawater pumps. After 3 years of design and testing the first axial flow pumps model BAA were introduced to the market having a great success. Over the years new models with improved efficiency and functionality were developed by our engineers giving birth to axial flow models BAB, BAC, BAE, BAF, BAH, and mixed flow models BMA, BMB, BMC, BMD, and BMH.  Furthermore, DELTA’s pumps applications extended to industrial, municipal, agriculture and power generation.  Today, DELTA has successfully installed over 2,500 pumps operating in 27 countries around the world, pumping more than 6,000 m3/s, and with an installed power of more than 500,000 hp.

In year 2004 DELTA Delfini started to develop turbines for hydroelectric applications.   The hydraulic turbine designs include propeller, Francis, and Pelton turbines.  The same year DELTA was awarded with the ISO 9001:2000 quality standards certificate.
