FEDEXPOR presented the eleventh edition of the Exporter Awards, which recognizes the efforts of national exporting companies. In this edition, held on November 25, 2021, the efforts of these companies amidst the COVID-19 pandemic were acknowledged. In 2014, a vertical Pelton turbine with four injectors designed, manufactured, and installed by DELTA-DELFINI & CÍA., S.A. for Electrogeneradora del Austro S.A. (ELECAUSTRO). It started operating in January 2015 to these days. Using a flow rate of 700 liters per second and a total head of 165 meters, this turbine has the capacity to produce 970 kW at the turbine shaft. The power plant is located on the Gualaceo – Limón road, 4.5 kilometers from the Gualaceo canton, in the province of Azuay, and it uses the waters of the San Francisco River.
